If your company or other corporate body owns or rents its business premises, it may be entitled to nominate one person to vote on its behalf in that council area.
You do not have to own the property, business tenants may also be eligible.
Tasmanian businesses need efficient local government, low rates, faster and more predictable planning decisions, less red tape, and infrastructure that helps businesses invest, employ and grow.
Councils make decisions about all these things, and the councillors elected this year will influence them for the next four years.
Tasmania’s five large urban councils will each have nine elected members, while all other councils will have seven. With only seven or nine elected members around each council table, it is even more important that businesses have a say in who represents them.
Enrolment on the General Manager’s Roll is not automatic, and there are only a few days left to apply.
We encourage you to check whether your business is eligible and enrol before the deadline.
Download the corporate nominee enrolment form and return it to the General Manager of the relevant council by 6 pm on Thursday 10 September.
