A message from our Chair

Edwin Johnstone
I’m pleased to share an exciting update with our business community. We have relaunched the Confederation of Greater Hobart Business as Business Greater Hobart – a clearer, more accessible name that reflects our purpose: supporting, connecting, and advocating for small businesses across the Greater Hobart region.
This relaunch marks the beginning of an important year for our organisation, including the introduction of the 2026 Greater Hobart Small Business Excellence Awards. These awards are designed to recognise the talent, innovation, and contribution of local businesses that play such a vital role in our economy and community.
We look forward to engaging with businesses through our networking events, advocacy work, and upcoming initiatives, and we invite you to be part of what’s ahead.
2026 Greater Hobart Small Business Excellence Awards
The Awards will celebrate local talent, innovation and excellence, recognising the achievements of small businesses and entrepreneurs who contribute to Hobart’s vibrant economy.
Businesses are encouraged to participate by nominating, celebrating peers, and showcasing their achievements as part of this upcoming program.
Nominations open in February.
