Join us as we launch the Greater Hobart Small Business Excellence Awards for 2026.
The awards to be held on Saturday 1st August 2026 will celebrate the people, operators and teams who drive our city’s small business community.
These awards recognise real achievement, resilience and innovation across Greater Hobart, showcasing the contribution small businesses make to our local economy and culture.
Businesses from across Greater Hobart are encouraged to put themselves forward or nominate a standout operator who has made a meaningful impact.

Award Categories
1. Emerging Small Business Award
Recognising businesses operating for less than three years that demonstrate strong foundations, growth, stability, reputation and future potential.
2. Professional Services Award
Recognising excellence in professional, advisory and specialist services including, but not limited to legal, financial, consulting, health, creative and technical services.
3. Trades and Construction Excellence Award
Recognising excellence in trades and construction industries, including, but not limited to building, civil, manufacturing and specialist services, focusing on quality, safety, reliability and strong workforce practices.
4. Innovation and ICT Award
Recognising innovation through technology and digital capability, including, but not limited to ICT services, software, automation, systems and data-driven solutions that improve business outcomes, efficiency and customer experience.
5. Customer Service Excellence Award
Recognising businesses that consistently deliver exceptional customer or client experiences built on trust, responsiveness and service culture.
6. Inclusion, Equity and Belonging Award
Recognising genuine, practical action in creating inclusive, accessible and equitable workplaces, with a focus on measurable outcomes rather than statements alone.
7. Leadership, Sustainability and Community Impact Award
Recognising leadership that delivers positive outcomes for people, the environment and the broader community including, but not limited to responsible governance, sustainable operations and community contribution.
8. Business of the Year Chairman’s Award
Presented at the discretion of the Chairman to a small business that exemplifies outstanding leadership, impact and contribution to Greater Hobart. This award is not available for sponsorship.
